International programs for scientists, teachers and applicants, grants

DAAD: research grants for young scientists

This is a program that will help you continue your research activities at one of the universities in Germany. Young Ukrainian scientists will receive a monthly stipend that will cover living expenses, travel expenses there and back, insurance and educational materials.

The program lasts from seven to twelve months. The scholarship will arrive on October 1, 2024, and you can complete the language courses earlier.

This is one of the many DAAD opportunities funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukrainians.

An important note for students and scientists from Ukraine:
Please note that applying for a DAAD scholarship takes some time. Applications for most programs are accepted in the summer and fall. Funding usually begins in the winter semester of the following academic year.

Digital Labs: Educators

The online laboratory gathers specialists from all over Ukraine to think about overcoming the urgent challenges of modern education.

In nine days, you will be inspired by examples of the work of experts from the EU, Great Britain, and Ukraine, and together with other participants, you will develop methodological recommendations that you can immediately apply in your work. An additional motivation to give it your all is scholarships that will be awarded to the authors of the strongest projects.

During the online laboratory, together with educators from all over Ukraine, you will be able to think about solving common problems. You will learn about working tools during lectures by experts from the EU, Great Britain and Ukraine, you will find new ideas during workshops and in a team with other participants you will develop and present an effective solution for modern education. Experts will be on hand to guide and help with advice. Authors of the best projects will receive up to 500 euros for professional development.

International mobility grants

The international mobility grant is your chance to participate in professional events in EU countries at our expense. We will finance a trip that will contribute to your growth: you can attend a conference, meet European colleagues, take part in an internship or present a project. We can cover transportation, accommodation, meals, visa, insurance and event tickets. International mobility grants are intended for workers in the cultural and creative sector, education and youth work, social entrepreneurship and media.

BridgeUSA: Exchange program for Ukrainian teachers

The US Department of State, the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Office of Private Sector Exchange Programs, and the American Councils for International Education are pleased to announce the opening of applications for participation in the “BridgeUSA: Exchange Program for Ukrainian Teachers” program.

“BridgeUSA: Exchange Program for Ukrainian Teachers” will promote the development of relationships between Ukrainian and American teachers and researchers for the purpose of joint research, exchange of pedagogical experience, development of educational courses, as well as publication of scientific works. The long-term goal of the “BridgeUSA: Exchange Program for Ukrainian Teachers” project is to help Ukrainian universities in training specialists critically needed for the reconstruction and recovery of the country by building strong and productive cooperation with US higher education institutions.

“BridgeUSA: Exchange Program for Ukrainian Teachers” provides for visits of participants to US universities lasting 1 month, during which Ukrainian teachers will be able to conduct scientific research, observe classes in their discipline, develop new courses or materials for courses, make presentations and lectures, etc.

Educators in the following academic fields are eligible to participate in the competition: agricultural technology, conflict resolution and peace studies, engineering, information technology, mental health, pedagogy, and urban planning.

Candidates who:

are citizens of Ukraine and live on the territory of Ukraine at the time of submitting the questionnaire;
are full-time teaching or research staff with at least two years of university experience;
fluent in spoken and written English;
demonstrate a desire to return to Ukraine after the end of the visit;
are eligible to receive a J-1 nonimmigrant visa for participants in US exchange programs.
The deadline for submitting the questionnaire is January 21, 2024.
