On December 12, 2023, employees came to a practical session on “Preparation of a pharmaceutical representative” for students of higher education of the 4th year of the specialty “226 Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy” of the educational program “Pharmacy” (years 4, 10, groups 1-3) “Arterium” Corporation – product portfolio manager Dmytro Rubtsov and staff training and development manager Maryna Gerasimenko.
Dmytro Rubtsov, who previously worked as a medical representative of a pharmaceutical company, became the main speaker of the meeting. Graduates of the professional pharmaceutical college of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine were also invited to the class. More than 90 participants took part in this event.
In his presentation, Dmytro Rubtsov discussed key historical events of the Arterium Corporation, the company’s product portfolio, commercial department, mission, values, and corporate responsibility. Separately, the speaker paid attention to the requirements for employment as a medical and pharmaceutical representative, reviewed the competencies of a medical representative, how company personnel are evaluated, talked about the possibility of training at various levels after employment, post-training support for medical representatives, career growth opportunities, about the School of Product managers
Students of higher education and teachers of the department of pharmaceutical management and marketing of the National University of Science and Technology actively asked questions about the peculiarities of the work of a medical representative:
subtleties of the technique of primary and secondary visits;
promotional materials used during the visit;
about the knowledge and skills necessary for the performance of official duties in this position;
about the peculiarities of the working schedule of the medical representative;
about incentives for successful performance of professional duties;
about the company’s drugs in demand on the market, their features and advantages among competitors.
